Welcome to my site!
I'm Amber (she/her), an old millennial who's a little loud, a little wild, and very adventurous. Your go-to lifestyle photographer for all those candid moments and authentic storytelling over in Parksville, British Columbia.
Originally from Metro Vancouver, my parents moved over to the Island in the early 90s and I grew up in Nanaimo. 30+ years later I am living in paradise in Parksville with my husband and three kids that I'm always chasing around!
I got the photography bug from my Dad who was always filling up rolls of film when I was growing up. We had drawers full of old negatives filled with all the childhood memories. As an adult, it's what made me realize how important it is to capture all those beautiful moments in between.
I have volunteered for over 12 years with local youth groups teaching everything from sailing, survival, leadership, and marching band. Experienced with working with kids of all skillsets and abilities, and find so much joy in helping them excel in their own ways. Community is so important to me and there's nothing better than giving back!
When I'm not behind the lens I love spending time at the beach. I am always driving out to the west coast to surf, swim, or just spend time listening to the waves. I'm constantly sneaking off to go fishing or spend the afternoon boating! The ocean is part of my soul and I dip my toes in the water any chance I get.
I'm definitely the outdoorsy type. Love travelling up and down the island, and exploring our local communities. I know so many hidden gem locations in Nanaimo, Parksville, Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, & the Oceanside area that I'm dying to shoot! In the summer our family always heads north island to go camping in the bush, my only request is far enough there's no cell reception!!! Let me add this, if you're planning to spend time in nature, PLEASE leave no trace behind!
